NCTIES Conference 2017

Hacking the App

If you look at the Attendees section of the app, it displays your name, title, and company (school). We filled in this information based on your registration. No one said it has to stay that way.

Under My Profile, you can edit everything but your email. I put my title and school in the Title field. In Company field I put my twitter handle.

Ok, so its not really hacking the app but I think it is cool.

The App is Ready!

We know you've been anxiously awaiting the opening of the 2016 NCTIES app. If you have already downloaded the app and are receiving incorrect session and schedule information when you log in for the first time try syncing the app. If that doesn't help, delete the app and reinstall it. That should take care of any syncing issues.

Find the download here:

Your username is the email that was used to register. The password is: ncties16

Be sure to continuously check the app during the conference. Any updates, schedule changes or announcements will be communicated via the app.

We're so glad that you will join us this year for the 2016 NCTIES Conference in Raleigh! No matter your role in school, you'll find that attending this conference will provide you with practical applications and ideas for creating exciting learning environments within your classroom and school.

We hope this page will answer some of your questions, and help you prepare as you explore this year's theme, Imagine.

Tips for Making the Most of Your First Conference:
Breakfast is served on Thursday and Friday morning in Exhibit Hall B approximately an hour before the first session. A snack will be provided Thursday afternoon.
Locate the Registration Booth on the second floor of the convention center and stop by at any point in the conference for assistance.
Take time to explore the exhibitor booths in Exhibit Hall B to learn more about some of the latest technologies available.
Tech support will be available on the second floor near registration.
Be sure to visit the Raleigh Visitors Bureau booth on the second floor for information regarding dining and things to explore while you're in Raleigh. (There may even be a prize or two involved.)
Connect ahead of time with the NCTIES 2016 Mobile App, Twitter (#ncties16) and Facebook.
Know the program. You can download the preview or program in advance either through the website or the conference app. Coming soon!
Identify some key areas you want to focus on for either your own personal PD or for your school.
If you're attending the conference with other colleagues plan your schedules in advance, meet often during the conference, and agree on some shared goals.
Network! This is a great way to connect with other educators from across the state. Take time to meet and talk with those around you in the sessions you attend. You never know what school and classroom partnerships could arise.
Be on the lookout for the SWAG Patrol! You never know where a NCTIES Board Member may show up with additional prizes.
Sessions are held in the convention center and in the Marriott. The fastest way to get to the Marriott is through the connecting entrance found on the second floor of the convention center.
Learn your way around. Main events are held in the ballrooms at the top of the convention center. Featured speakers present in rooms 402 and Ballroom A. Concurrent sessions are held on the second and third floors. The Student Showcase will be held outside of the ballrooms and on the second floor. Playgrounds, breakfast and snacks are found in Exhibit Hall B.
